A brother and sister said an SUV driver approached them at their St. Paul bus stop, and when they refused to go with him he drove to the next bus stop.
The siblings, who are 6- and 10-years old, were alone Wednesday morning at the corner of Edgerton Street and E. Geranium Ave when they noticed a Jeep Cherokee approaching. Other students had no arrived and there were no adults around.
They said the man at the wheel stared at them as he passed slowly. Then, they said, he called to them through an open passenger window.
When the kids refused to get in his car, he offered them candy.
The brother and sister shouted for help. Adults in the neighborhood came outside and the driver sped away.
But, the kids said, that wasn't the end of the ordeal. They said they saw the Cherokee again at the next bus stop on the route and they said the Jeep followed their bus to school.
St. Paul police told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS they take calls like this one seriously.
The information is put into a data base to help them spot similarities and patterns.
As for the kids, their mon said someone will drive them to and from school.
